Spend a Day on Benidorm's Beaches
Levante, Poniente or a quieter spot – sometimes the best plans are the simplest
You don't have to spend a fortune to enjoy Benidorm. Some of the best days start with nothing more complicated than finding a spot on the beach and heading into the Mediterranean when it gets too warm.
Levante is the livelier choice, with its promenade, bars and restaurants close by. Poniente has a more relaxed feel and plenty of space, while little Mal Pas Beach sits between the two near the Old Town.
If you're staying for a week or more, try all three. Each has a different feel, and you might be surprised which one ends up being your favourite.
Explore Benidorm Old Town
Narrow streets, tapas and one of the best views in Benidorm
Take a wander away from the beachfront and Benidorm starts to feel very different. The Old Town is full of narrow streets, little squares, tapas bars, shops and restaurants, making it a great place to explore without any real plan.
Make your way up to the Balcón del Mediterráneo, sitting between Levante and Poniente. The views across the Mediterranean and both sides of the coastline make it one of those places we never really get tired of visiting.
Don't rush it. Have a wander, stop for a drink or some tapas and enjoy a completely different side of Benidorm.
Cool Off at Aqualandia
Water slides, pools and a full day away from the beach
If you fancy swapping the beach for water slides and pools, Aqualandia is one of Benidorm's best-known days out and a popular choice for families, couples and groups.
There's a mixture of high-energy slides and more relaxed areas, so you don't have to spend the entire day throwing yourself down the biggest ride you can find!
It's worth allowing plenty of time for your visit, especially during the busier summer months. Check current opening dates and ticket options before you go, as these can vary throughout the season.
Spend a Day at Terra Mítica
Roller coasters, rides and entertainment for a different kind of Benidorm day out
If you've had enough of lying by the pool for a day, Terra Mítica gives you a completely different way to spend it. Benidorm's theme park combines rides, shows and attractions inspired by ancient Mediterranean civilisations.
There are thrills for those who like the bigger rides, along with gentler attractions for visitors who prefer to keep their feet a little closer to the ground.
It's the sort of place where you can easily spend a large part of the day, so check the current opening calendar and ticket options before making plans, particularly if you're visiting outside the main summer season.
Visit Mundomar
A popular wildlife park and family day out in Benidorm
Mundomar is another popular option if you're looking for a day away from the beach, particularly if you're visiting Benidorm as a family.
The park is home to a variety of marine and exotic animals, with demonstrations and activities taking place during the day. It's also right next to Aqualandia, making this part of Benidorm easy to reach for a day out.

Sometimes it's good to leave Benidorm behind for a few hours – even if you're only looking back at it from the sea.
Boat trips give you a completely different view of the famous skyline and coastline, with options varying from shorter sightseeing trips to longer excursions. Benidorm Island, sitting just off the coast, is one of the most recognisable sights from the resort's beaches.
What's available can vary depending on the season and weather, so check current departure times and trip options before making plans.
If you've spent a few days around the pool or on the beach, getting out onto the Mediterranean makes a great change of scenery.
Take a Walk Along Levante Promenade
Beach views, bars and one of the easiest ways to enjoy Benidorm
Not everything worth doing in Benidorm needs a ticket. A walk along Levante promenade is one of the simplest ways to enjoy the resort, whether you're out first thing in the morning or taking an evening stroll.
You'll have the beach and Mediterranean on one side and plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants on the other, so there's always somewhere to stop if the walking becomes thirsty work.
We particularly like it later in the day when the temperature starts to drop and the sun begins to go down. Take your time, enjoy the views and stop for a drink along the way – there's no need to rush anywhere.
Experience Benidorm's Nightlife

You don't have to look very far for a night out in Benidorm. From live music and cabaret to busy bars around the Strip and English Square, there's something happening most nights.
One of our favourite ways to start is somewhere a little more relaxed before heading into the busier areas. A drink at the Explorers Club before the mayhem begins usually does the job!
If daytime drinks are more your thing, there are plenty of places around Levante too. You can find a sunny spot, have a drink and watch Benidorm go by without turning it into an all-night session.
The best advice? Don't feel like you have to follow the crowds. Benidorm nightlife is big enough to find your own favourite places.
See Benidorm from Above
Swap the beachfront for some of the best views across the resort
Benidorm looks completely different when you see it from above. If you fancy getting away from the beachfront for a while, there are several spots around the resort where you can take in the skyline, coastline and Mediterranean.
One of the best known is La Creu de Benidorm – the Benidorm Cross – high above the eastern end of Levante. Getting there takes a bit more effort than strolling along the promenade, but the views make it worthwhile.
Go when the weather is comfortable, take some water and don't rush. It's a great place for photographs and another reminder that there's much more surrounding Benidorm than high-rise hotels and busy beaches.

One of the best things about Benidorm is that you can make the holiday whatever you want it to be. Fill every day with attractions and trips, or forget the itinerary and spend an afternoon on the beach followed by tapas and a few drinks.
If you're visiting for the first time, mix a few of Benidorm's big attractions with some time exploring the Old Town, beaches and promenade. You don't need to see everything in one trip – there's always next time.
